**About this role**
We have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated **Senior Urban Planner** to join our vibrant and enthusiastic Engineering team based in **Auckland**. The primary focus of this position is to provide an Urban Planning services to the NZ Planning Business Team in Auckland. This role will focus on providing sustainable solutions to cities and complex urban and regional environments. Our aim is to help our clients create sustainable, inclusive, and socially successful places for people.
**What will I do?**
- Contribute to broader leadership within the Planning and Transport Planning team and will be required to leading a team on projects.;
- Provide planned input and supporting for a range of urban, regional, socio-economic projects across a variety of sectors;
- Take a long-term strategic view of the business in order to contribute to the development plan of Arup;
- Understand the environmental, social and urban policy challenges our clients bring and developing sustainable strategies and solutions within the master-planning design team; and
- Respond to project opportunities in the preparation or proposals and responses to tenders and guiding junior members of your team.
**What will I bring?**
- Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or similar with a minimum of 5 years industry experience;
- Knowledge of the New Zealand planning framework, guidelines and ability to understand complex urban proposals;
- Ability to remain positive and foster team spirit at times of significant pressure, including assisting others to meet deadlines;
- Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment and to quickly develop successful client relationships; and
- Fantastic leadership and interpersonal skills.
