This role may suit an experienced and proven landscape planner seeking an opportunity to make a bigger impact, or may suit if you are motivated by career development and progression, with some experience under your belt and are wondering “what’s next?”. Our senior roles have the scope and remit to be scoped around your career background, with a high degree of career, client, and market responsibility to match your ambition.
**Ko wai koe | About you**
To be successful in this role you’ll need to view assessment as part of the design continuum and recognise the opportunity landscape planning plays in bringing critical design thinking early in the project lifecycle. Our work spans multiple market segments and as landscape architects we provide design and assessment services input to master plans for both greenfield and brownfield sites, streetscape and public open space design, transportation infrastructure including harbour crossings, water and waste facilities, power and transmission infrastructure and a variety of urban growth initiatives.
In our Design Practice, you will:
- Play an active part of a broader planning and design team, including Landscape Architects, Urban Designers, Architects and Environmental Planners
- Be motivated by the opportunity to lead and develop a landscape planning service offering to the market
- Need a strong desire to build a team around you and mentor people through their technical development
- Have the ability and preference to work in multidisciplinary teams as well as being self-directed and critically minded
- Be open to working on a wide variety of projects
- Have professional experience in assisting and/or preparing landscape and visual assessments, including strong written and verbal skills
- Have a solid understanding of the RMA as it relates to landscape matters and experience at Council and ideally Environment Court hearings
- Need a working knowledge of currently accepted assessment methodology including relevant Council and Environment Court decisions
- Be a registered member of NZILA (or international equivalent)
