**Overall Role Purpose**

The Digital Development Manager provides strong leadership of the development team - ensuring quality, relevance, and maturity of software development processes and capabilities. They collaborate with other IT Teams and technology partners to ensure a high level of service delivery.

Operationally the role is accountable for the SDLC, continuous improvement, and quality delivery with a sharp focus on risk management.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Own development change within the team.
- Identify and implement modern tools, technologies, and development practices to ensure efficient and effective delivery.
- Provide technical leadership, including solution architecture recommendations.
- Responsible for the quality of change, including testing activities.
- Be a single point of contact for third party Development teams
- Responsible for working in cross-functional teams to shape and drive solutions.
- Responsible for delivering and transitioning projects into the Operations function, including setting up new processes for in-life management where appropriate.
- Ensuring digital assets remain operationally stable and active post-development.
- Responsible for technical innovation, developing digital expertise and sharing that knowledge; collaborating with other digital experts.
**Personal Specifications**
**EXPERIENCE**
- Minimum 7 years hands-on development - preferably in funds management, banking, or financial services.
- Minimum 5 years leadership of development teams in an operational environment.
- Working knowledge of SQL,.NET, Java, C#, React JS, and Windows/Linux OS. Optional experience of Delphi, data lake/warehouse, and AWS services.

**Key Competencies**
**ROLE-SPECIFIC**
- Practical experience and knowledge of SDLC, ITIL, Agile, development practices, and development tools.
- Excellent communication skills, including excellent verbal and written skills.
- Practical experience delivering digital capabilities and business change.
- Strong understanding and experience working within and alongside project teams.
