**About the Role**

A well-established consultancy with decades of experience in surveying, planning, engineering, and environmental services is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer to join their growing environmental team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to take ownership of complex environmental engineering projects, lead junior staff, and deliver high-quality stormwater, three waters, and land development solutions.

You will independently lead projects from inception to completion, providing technical design, project management, and client engagement. You’ll have the opportunity to influence project delivery, coordinate with councils and stakeholders, and mentor junior engineers, while ensuring projects are delivered on time, to budget, and to quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

- Lead environmental engineering projects, including design, modelling, reporting, and approvals
- Manage client communications, stakeholder engagement, and council liaison
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers, reviewing calculations and deliverables
- Participate in construction observation, certification, and environmental approvals
- Prepare and present evidence at resource consent or Environment Court hearings when required
- Contribute to process improvements, quality assurance, and continuous professional development within the team

**What We’re Looking For**
- Degree in Environmental Engineering or equivalent (BEngTech, Diploma, NZCE, etc.)
- Chartered or working towards Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status
- Extensive experience in stormwater, three waters, and environmental design
- Proven leadership skills with experience supervising and mentoring staff
- Proficiency with Civil3D and environmental engineering design software
- Strong understanding of NZ regulatory requirements, codes, and standards
- Excellent communication, report writing, and client management skills
- Full NZ driver’s license
