A Communications Advisor is required for a 3 month contract assisting a small but busy Communications Team located in Takapuna. This role is for a large complex organisation working within the health sector. This role is heavily media focused and so you would get to fully utilise your previous media based experience.

**Key accountabilities**:

- Develop, update and distribute communication materials (posters, print advertisements, presentations, brochures, frequently asked questions etc.) to internal and external stakeholders as required.
- Media relations including responding to media enquiries and escorting any media on site
- Issues and risk management
- Social Media
- Developing communication strategies to assist the organisation with enhancing its reputation and brand
- Coordinating and drafting written statements
- Developing and maintaining effective working relationships at all levels, including senior staff and key stakeholders.
- Deal with day-to-day enquiries.
- Assisting with project work
- Some on-call work maybe required

**Person Specification**:

- 3 + years communications experience
- A degree/qualification in communications, journalism or public relations
- Experience working with Media releases
- Experience within health a major advantage
- Ability to produce effective communications material.
- Previous experience writing for corporate audiences.
- Good knowledge of the media and government sector in New Zealand
- Exceptional organisational skills
- Good decision-making abilities
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure
- Commitment to providing a quality customer-focused service
