Pact is currently looking for a part-time (8 hours per week) Consumer Advisor based in Invercargill.
**About Us**
Pact is a major provider of community, vocational and residential based intellectual disability, mental health and addictions services across Southland, Otago, West Coast and the Lower North Island. Our team of passionate staff journey alongside individuals to support them in setting and achieving their goals. We are looking for someone with a passion for supporting people with a high and complex needs to lead fulfilling lives in the community. Our services provide a safe and positive environment where our clients are assisted to achieve maximum independence.
**The Role**
The main focus of the Consumer Advisor role is to provide a service user perspective and voice on all aspects of service delivery within Southern Mental Health services. The role involves actively participating in meetings, commenting on all aspects of the services and having input into decisions that may impact on the service users and their families/whanau.
The consumer advisor should ensure that service users are an integral part of our mental health services.
Excellent communication and networking skills and the ability to build and sustain working relationships with clients and their whanau, staff and external agencies is essential. You will need to be passionate about the work we do at Pact, and work according to Pacts mission, vision, values, attitudes, policies and procedures and will maintain confidentiality at all times.
**Desired Skills and Experience**
*Experience being a mental health service user *Ability to work through and problem solve *Be resilient and have clear working boundaries *A full drivers licence and computer skills are essential *If on a work visa, this must be valid for at least twelve months *Must be available for an interview in Invercargill
