Group Manager, Strategy and Engagement

Leadership role within the Senior Leadership Team of Te Pou Hauora Tūmatanui [The Public Health Agency (PHA)], reporting directly to the Deputy Director-General
- Lead the mahi to build our network, ensuring the voices of a diverse range of stakeholders and communities are understood and embedded across all Te Pou Hauora Tūmatanui functions
- Lead our cross-government engagement, ensuring health is at the forefront of thinking in all Government policy development
- Look ahead to find future opportunities to improve population health, wellbeing and equity
- Salary midpoint of $212,144, actual salary dependent on your experience

We regulate the health sector and are the primary source of advice on health matters. As we move away from the response to the Covid pandemic now is the time to look to the future, to ensure New Zealanders are cared for by a health system that is innovative, future focussed and world leading.
The Public Health Agency (PHA) is a new and distinctly, branded business unit being established within the Ministry. It will lead population and public health policy, strategy, regulatory, intelligence, surveillance and monitoring functions across the system.

Ko tōu ake mahi - What You'll Do
In this role you will provide strategic direction and leadership in the development and implementation of the Public Health Agency's strategic intent (Pou Whirinaki) to deliver our effective contribution to equity of health outcomes, the health and wellbeing of individuals, whānau and population groups and the vision of Pae Ora. You will bring your extensive experience and firm track record in strategic thinking, relationship management and leading teams and people as you lead the public health strategy and engagement teams and functions across Te Pou Hauora Tūmatanui.
In this integral position will be a key part of the mahi is ensuring a diverse contribution of thought is brought to future strategy and policy development, including partners across the system as well as the voice of communities. Utilising your ability to lead and deliver programmes of work, you will support the needs of the group, to ensure appropriate capacity and capability as you collectively support the Agency and Ministry to deliver on the Government's and Ministry priorities and objectives.
Remote working available, with an expectation of regular time spent in our Wellington office to encourage face to face collaboration with your team.
