We are looking for a Kaitakawaenga who is enthusiastic about the wellbeing of the Hawke’s Bay community, enjoy working with a wide range of people and want to support whānau to access immunisation, screening and other services which help them stay well.
Kaitakawaenga are highly skilled practitioners with a unique perspective of the community and an ability to connect with whānau experiencing barriers to accessing health services. The role requires sensitivity to kaupapa Māori, Pasifika cultures and the use of prevention and health promotion strategies.
To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and personal attributes:
- Qualification or experience in health promotion or community support or equivalent
- Experience in communicating information, supporting whānau and being culturally responsive
- Competence in Microsoft programmes, interviewing and written communication
- Be effective in engaging with Māori and work with a wide range of age groups and communities
- Be a positive team player
