64 hours per fortnight (0.8 FTE)

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Haumaru Whānau Team, part of the Population Health Service. We are a collection of programmes that support clinicians across Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand, Te Matau a Maui, Hawke’s Bay through training and consultation, policy and practice guideline development to provide a safe and timely response to those in need in our community. Our programmes include responses to family harm, child abuse and neglect, early intervention for vulnerable pregnant women, and coordination of suicide prevention and postvention responses. We are proud of our service’s diverse portfolios and work closely to support each other in this challenging field.

Your role will be predominantly in the family harm specialism, and will include the following responsibilities;
- Ensure smooth and effective pathway for tamariki / rangatahi / whānau / kaumatau / kuia referred to the service to ensure barriers to services are reduced
- Competent engaging and addressing cultural needs of the consumer and whānau
- A strong emphasis on improving services and reducing inequities for Māori whānau, hapū and iwi
- Active participation in service area decision making, including initiatives to strengthen interventions and engagement practices with Māori (whānau, hapū and iwi) and integrating Māori models of healthcare
- Supporting a holistic approach within a progressive service to better enable collaborative relationships and integrated pathways
- Working across numerous clinical areas throughout Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand, Te Matau a Maui, Hawke’s Bay in both urban and rural settings to ensure a consistent delivery of Haumaru Whānau team objectives.
