An opportunity has arisen within Whānau & Communities Group at Te Whatu Ora ki Te Matau a Māui (Health New Zealand, Hawke’s Bay) in particular to Central Hawkes Bay Health Centre (CHB) as a Kaitakawaenga.
The successful applicant will provide culturally responsive support for Māori patients and their whānau across CHB (Tamatea) in collaboration with the CHB healthcare team and the wider Āwhina team.
In this role, there will also be provision to provide cultural support in all relevant activities across Te Whatu Ora ki Te Matau a Māui that recognises and supports the delivery of the Hawkes Bay health sector vision and values.
As well as working with the wider Āwhina team, there is a need to work independently, have excellent communication skills, have good time management, have a good knowledge base in health and have a good understanding of the local Māori community.
A reasonably good knowledge of te reo Māori and Kahungunutanga would also be an advantage.
