**Job Description** International Student Experience and Compliance Advisor**
**Location: Auckland**
**Full-time | Permanent | Hybrid**

**About the role**

We are looking for a proactive and culturally responsive International Student Experience and Compliance Advisor to join our Quality and Risk team.

In this pivotal role, you will enhance the wellbeing and academic success of our international ākonga, ensuring they enjoy a safe, supportive, and high-quality experience in Aotearoa New Zealand. You will provide advice, guidance, and advocacy from pre-arrival through to post-graduation, while also ensuring compliance with Immigration New Zealand (INZ) and the Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice.

This role requires a unique balance of empathy, accuracy, and cultural awareness, alongside strong technical knowledge of international student regulations. You will also support the continuous improvement of policies, processes, and initiatives, making a meaningful difference to the lives of our learners.

**Key Responsibilities include**:

- Provide advice and support to international ākonga, parents, agents, and staff on visas, insurance, and compliance.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with INZ requirements and the Code of Practice.
- Design and support pre-arrival information and orientation programmes.
- Advocate for international ākonga wellbeing, ensuring their voices shape continuous improvement.
- Monitor and analyse data on enrolment, satisfaction, and outcomes to guide planning.
- Liaise with external agencies, including INZ, and contribute to audits and reviews.
- Contribute to Yoobee policy and process development, ensuring cultural responsiveness.
- Embed Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and inclusive practices into the international student experience.

**Qualifications** About you / Key Requirements**

You are an organised and empathetic professional with strong attention to detail and a passion for supporting international learners. You will be confident working with compliance frameworks while also providing outstanding customer service to students and their whānau.

**To be successful, you will bring**:

- A Graduate Diploma in New Zealand Immigration Advice and at least a provisional immigration adviser licence (preferred), OR eligibility under IAA exemption requirements.
- Strong knowledge of INZ requirements and the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students.
- Excellent administrative and data management skills, including CRM/Student Management Systems.
- High levels of accuracy, attention to detail, and time management.
- Outstanding communication and cultural competency, with the ability to engage with diverse communities.
- A collaborative team approach, integrity, and a proactive attitude.
