We are recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join Team Ritchies at our Head Office in Swanson, reporting to our Finance Manager.
This is a key support role responsible for providing high-quality financial administration
and accounting assistance across a range of finance functions. The successful
reporting, and maintain strong financial controls to support the smooth operation of the
finance function.

Ritchies is one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s leading passenger transport companies with a team of more than 2,000 people providing coach and charter services right across the country. We partner with regional councils and schools to supply public transport services as well as offering a range of bus and coach hire services to businesses and the general public. You would be joining us at an exciting time in Ritchies’ history as we gear up to decarbonise our fleet and move to a more sustainable public transport model.
**_ About You;_**
You’re an organised, methodical and detail orientated team player that has general accounting experience.
You want to grow your career and are looking for an opportunity to develop your skills by assisting with end-to-end accounting functions with a focus on month end.
You've also got an interest in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis processes.
You pride yourself on your time management skills and ability to follow tasks up promptly and accurately.
You’re great at being proactive, with developed interpersonal skills and capable of taking feedback so we can develop you further.
**_ Your Skills;_**
- Great customer service skills
- Previous general accounting experience (AP, AR, general ledger journals and reconciliations) gained in a commercial enterprise + following up on overdue debt OR you're a new grad looking for your first professional role
- Tech savvy with an affinity for picking up systems
- specifically with Microsoft Excel
- Ideally a tertiary qualification or pursuing in business or accounting
- Strong communicator
- Open and willing to learn
- Interest in public transport
- Health and safety savvy
