**Community Transport Injury Prevention Lead**
Keen to play a proactive part in advocating for a safety-oriented social movement?
With over 20,000 pepi born each year in Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland Transport (AT) is looking for an expert in injury prevention with specialist skills in (but not limited to) child restraint services, adult education, multi-cultural delivery, and provisioning services to vulnerable and neurodiverse communities.
You will represent AT, working alongside Treaty Partners and communities to promote injury prevention methodologies and to educate and host events across Auckland (rural, urban and island communities).
Key responsibilities of role include the brokering of authentic relationships across providers and agencies, providing a well-rounded customer experience as well as mitigating barriers to services, information, and education. The role will provide an opportunity to utilise your technical knowledge whilst sharing skills and expertise in coaching, training, and developing others within the organisation and community.
You will demonstrate knowledge of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how it applies in the public sector.
This is a key role to bolstering safety through capability and capacity building within communities.
**The role**:
- You will be joining AT's Community Transport team working alongside various team-leads and coordinators to:
- Continually improve business by looking for inefficiencies and/or deficits
- Identify risks and implement mitigations including technological and process-driven improvements
- Plan and facilitate engagements to promote injury prevention methods as well as monitor and lead teams to deliver child-restraint and road-safety initiatives effectively
- Develop and maintain effective relationships to support delivery:
- Internally (across all AT business units)
- Key stakeholders and multi-faceted agencies like Auckland Council, Local Boards, NZTA, New Zealand Police, ACC, etc.
- Treaty partners, Mana Whenua and Mātāwaka
- Manage budgets, resources, and professional service requirements as well as forecast expenditures and deliver accountability reports
- Maintain current and relevant best practise methods inline with national and international research and legislation, continuously adapting operational standards and delivery
- Prepare accurate bids for investment/co-investment opportunities in injury prevention initiatives
- Lead training, coaching, monitoring, and development of others, including ongoing safety auditing of community engagements, and providing technical advice internally and externally
**What are we looking for?**
- Minimum:
- 5 years' experience in an Adult Education role leading the delivery of services to various geographic communities including both urban and rural, culturally diverse Communities
