How do we continue to deliver on our purpose? Easy Journeys for a vibrant and growing Auckland? By innovating, enabling our people to deliver our crunchy strategic goals, while focusing on exceptional people experiences
- As catalysts for change each and every one of our team has a role in moving Auckland and AT forward.
It is an exciting time for us at Auckland Transport as we are seeking to further develop our Community Transport function. Ahead of us are some gritty pieces of work, we have some highly skilled innovators and amazing talent working across our business. We are supported by an executive team and leaders who value and understand that our people are how we will deliver on our organisational goals.
**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**
Auckland Transport proudly partners with it's Treaty partners, communities and agencies such as Police, Waka Kotahi, Auckland Council and ACC, providing the country's largest road safety and safe and sustainable school travel programme. Schools, kura, marae and the communities of Tamaki Makaurau are at the centre of our programme as we strive to provide education and opportunity to engage in safe and healthy choices around connecting people across our network.
As a Community Transport Team Leader you will foster and develop a team of committed and enthusiastic people to deliver travel behaviour change programmes in collaboration with key stakeholders and partners. These programmes include the delivery of bike and scooter skills in schools, promoting safe speeds around students travelling to and from school, Walking School Bus promotions and the drive for increased active travel. You will be dedicated to helping make Auckland a safer place for all to enjoy now and in the future.
**Ko koe tēnei | About you**
We are looking for a strong people leader who has experience working collaboratively within communities, coaching and mentoring high performing teams and delivering community based education preferably across Tāmaki Makaurau.
As a naturally influential person, you will have proven experience listening to the needs of the community, being innovative and introducing people centric and future proof solutions. You will have a high level of problem solving and experience bringing new ideas to life.
Ideally, you would have the ability to support Auckland Transport's commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi through a sound knowledge and understanding of Te Ao Maori and how it relates to our roles in our organisation. You will have an understanding of both the New Zealand Curriculum and Te Marautanga o Aotearoa and fluency in a second language could be an advantage.
