Its an exciting time to be joining this organisation With the development of three specialist business units Wharekai, Rongo and Whakaata, Rongowhakaata Iwi Trust (RIT) are seeking a**Policy Advisor**to contribute to the work of the Wharekai which facilitates the human agency values of the organisation.
Reporting to the Kaiurungi, the role is accountable for providing quality advice to Rongowhakaata Iwi Trust on regulatory and policy issues, ensuring compliance with legislation, regulation and reforms and that policy deliverables are met.
Ideally you will have:
- 3+ Years policy experience
- Relevant tertiary qualification in policy or planning
- Demonstrated knowledge of developing policy using Te Ao Mori frameworks
- Experience working in complex and politically sensitive environments
- Attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate sensitively in professional engagements and with the community
- A commitment to providing excellent services
- Ability to work as part of an integrated team
Together with an understanding of:
- Te ao Mori
- Basic Te Reo Mori
- Tikanga necessary to undertake the role
- Understanding of Rongowhakaata Iwi culture, tikanga, whakapapa and community
