Are you passionate about Policy? Are you keen to develop high quality advice and legislation to support the significant reforms to New Zealand's resource management system? Are you a big picture thinker who is also known for your attention to detail and diligence? As a Senior Policy Analyst in the Resource Management Policy and Legislation team, you will operate with a high degree of accountability developing excellent, crisp, high-quality advice on resource management issues which are often framed by complexity and risk.

**As a Senior Policy Analyst in Matapopore you will**:

- Lead the development of the on-going strategic policy work programme to support the success of resource management reform.
- Support the oversight of secondary regulations and orders in council to embed the system.
- Develop options and advice on emerging policy issues drawing on evidence and policy frameworks to scope up solutions to issues as the work programme develops.
- Have an innate ability to work quickly to turn around quality advice as required on ministerial priorities.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
- Demonstrated delivery of compelling, high-quality policy advice;
- Excellent written communication skills, including ability to use evidence, tables and graphics to support crisp and clear advice;
- High level understanding and direct experience of government processes, systems and tools;
- Ability to lead complex cross-governmental policy development and/or implementation programmes;
- Commitment to developing your cultural capability and capacity in te ao Māori;
- Knowledge and expertise of the RMA and the resource management system or other central government systems more broadly;
- Highly developed oral communication skills - can effectively engage with and influence key stakeholders - and explain complex issues clearly to a range of audiences;
- Proven experience of and a willingness to guide, coach and mentor other colleagues in their work delivery.

Whānuitanga Utu ā-Tau | Salary range
Salary range for this role is $101,802 to $124,424 pa. Appointment within this range will be based on skills and experience.
