About the Role

As a Senior Advisor, you will provide support, maintain and improve the delivery of a high-quality work programmes within the National Cervical Screening programme. This role sits within our Prevention directorate of NPHS and is a fixed term, full time opportunity.

Senior Advisors are mid-level advisors with strong subject matter expertise, writing and relationship skills capable of leading a project of work. In this role you will support the delivery of complex pieces of work, and to support the professional development of the team members. You will also drive continuous improvement in processes and practices within the team.

About the Team/Service/ Location

The NPHS within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.

About you

As a Senior Advisor, you are confident working in a fast-paced environment and getting 'stuck in' with a range of work. You have the ability to draw on relevant longer-term experience specific to the job and work demands. You have proven experience in an advisory role, applying critical thinking and using sound judgement to develop options and provide advice.

  • Relevant tertiary qualification at undergraduate level e.g public policy, health, business analysis
  • Experience in an advisory role, applying critical thinking and using sound judgement to develop options and provide advice
  • Strong analytical skills combined with an ability to quickly assimilate new information, and to write and talk about complex issues clearly and concisely with a range of audiences
  • Displays initiative, flexibility and positively contributes to the whole team
  • Able to use your well-developed written and oral communication skills to persuade and influence
  • Demonstrated ability to manage relationships at all levels and across organisations
