**The opportunity**
An exciting full-time permanent position has become available working within our water services asset management team. Do you thrive on data-driven decision-making and have a keen eye for asset management? As a Water Services Asset Engineer, you'll play a key role in managing and improving our water services infrastructure. Working alongside asset managers, GIS analysts, and project managers, you'll provide technical expertise and support to ensure the effective planning, management, and renewal of our three waters assets (water, wastewater, and stormwater).
**Your key responsibilities will include**
- Assisting with the Water Services GIS function to undertake spatial data capture and manage data sets for Council projects.
- Providing expert support and technical advice to Asset Managers, GIS Analysts, and Project Managers.
- Maintaining and improving Asset Management Information Systems to ensure data is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible.
- Supporting customers in maintaining and reporting on asset, condition, operational, spatial, and valuation data.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of asset management practices through the Asset Management Plan Improvement Plan.
- Assisting with the strategic planning, management, and renewal of water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure.
- Helping to develop and implement long-term asset management plans for sustainable and efficient infrastructure.
- Conducting condition and performance assessments, analysing data, and providing insights to support investment planning and decision-making.
- Ensuring asset management practices align with legislative, regulatory, and Council requirements.
**To set you up for success, you'll**
- Have a relevant tertiary qualification (degree / diploma) in Asset Management, Engineering or related field or an equivalent level of learning through experience.
- Proven GIS experience to at least intermediate level.
- Proven experience in Asset Management, Data Analysis and /or Data Management or at least 3 years' experience in a similar data management or analytical role.
- Experience working with asset management systems and data analysis.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
- A passion for infrastructure planning and sustainability.
