It's an excellent time to be joining Western Bay of Plenty District Council with the approved long-term plan providing for considerable infrastructure investment. You'll be coming into a high performing and close-knit team tasked with the planning, programming and development of wastewater assets and ensuring it meets the current and future requirements of the district.

The Western Bay of Plenty is a great place to live, stretching from Waihī Beach to Otamarakau covering 212,000 hectares of coastal, rural, and urban areas. The Asset and Capital team are busy, and with a vast network to manage they are seeking an engineer to join the team to manage the wastewater assets. If you are looking for a career, new challenges and to work with a great team, then this is your opportunity.

**The Challenge**
- Assist with the development and implementation of asset management plans.
- Develop programmes to maintain the lifecycle of council assets on the network.
- Tender and contract procurement management using industry best practice standards.
- Monitor, analyse and report on the levels of service, and the condition and performance of infrastructure assets.
- Develop collaborative working relationships within Council, and with the community, contractors, and consultants.
- Assess environmental impacts of proposed developments.

**Your Skills**
- Hold a qualification in Civil Engineering i.e. B.Eng. or NZCE/REA
- Ideally have 5 years plus experience in project delivery and asset management
- Demonstrated project delivery experience.
- Be a self-starter and have the ability to take ownership.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- An excellent communicator who can relate well to a diverse range of people.
- Be customer focused.
- Enjoy working with a great team and having fun at work.

This is a full-time permanent position with an indicative pay range of $85-100k dependent on skills and experience.
