**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
The Pae Ora legislation gives us the mandate and opportunity to create a system of commissioning that has the needs of whānau and communities at its heart. In this new model, we are not ‘commissioners' holding the power. We are Te Tiriti o Waitangi partners and allies, we are listeners of diverse voices, we are holders of the space for communities and whānau to lead. We are a team of teams who live within and reflect the communities we serve.
We are responsible for designing community-based systems of care, agreeing health and wellbeing plans, executing those plans, and monitoring outcomes which then feed into the design process. We work in partnership with our Te Whatu Ora and Te Aka Whai Ora colleagues to shape system-wide public health services across the motu.
The Principal Procurement Advisor is a member of the Contract Liaison and Procurement team in the regions or the Contracts and Procurement team in the national Funding & Investment team. The role in the national team will support complex procurement of nationally led services but will also interface with regional teams who will have oversight of their own contract administration and procurement processes at a regional and local level.
**Ngā pūkenga me ngā weako | Skills and experience**
You will have substantial experience in senior procurement roles including.
- Previous experience managing complex procurement processes of funded NGO services.
- Demonstrated experience navigating AOG procurement practices and Cabinet requirements around procurement.
- Previous experience working in government and a thorough understanding of the machinery of Government.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to tailor complex messages to a range of audiences.
- Experience in developing, maintaining and influencing relationships internally and externally, across various groups, including at a senior level.
- The ability to communicate complex information and ideas in both oral and written communication, in a range of formats, to various audiences including senior management, Board and Ministers.
