The Protective Security, Strategy & Planning Team coordinates and supports Te Tāhū o te Ture to promote a positive security culture. We're looking for a Principal Consultant, Supply Chain Risk to support the Manager Protective Security, Strategy & Planning with the continued design & implementation of third party supplier strategies, frameworks and plans.

The Principal Consultant will demonstrate broad and in-depth knowledge of end to end provider and supplier engagement lifecycles, protective security requirements, industry best practice, business and service delivery processes.

The Principal Consultant will be recognised as a thought leader and build a deep understanding of business requirements, provide guidance and advice at the strategic level. They will provide coaching, advice and guidance to team members, stakeholders and help to lift overall capability and business maturity level across the Ministry.

The Principal Consultant, working within Te Tāhū o te Ture Supply Chain Framework would add value to team outputs by ensuring assurance over third party providers and suppliers is completed in accordance with the Framework.

**Ō** pūkenga/Skills and Experience**

To be successful, we're looking for Advisory or Consultancy experience in large and complex organisations, including:

- Demonstrated ability to make the connection and translate strategy, policy and planning into an operational reality.
- Demonstrated writing abilities and well-developed verbal communication skills.
- Extensive experience providing strategic advice and solutions to senior management to mitigate risk.
- Able to build and maintain positive stakeholder relationships and effective networks across and within organisations.
- Coaching and guiding managers and staff in good practice, fit-for-purpose service delivery

Ideally you will also have:

- Relevant tertiary degree or equivalent knowledge, extensive skills and experience and a commitment to ongoing professional development (2-5 years of experience).
- Good understanding of the constitutional principles and legal processes that underpin the New Zealand justice system and NZ government agencies.
- Experience in protective security strategy, planning, and management within a NZ Government department or private security agency.

The appointing salary for this role will be between $110,766 and $143,388 based on skills and experience.
