The Principal Policy Advisor position is part of MBIE's Trade and Supply Chains team which provides the opportunity to make a significant difference to the resilience of New Zealand's trade links and supply chains. Recent global and domestic events, including shortages of key goods during the Covid pandemic, have highlighted the critical role that supply chains play in the global economy.

**Are you who we are looking for?**
We are looking for a strongly motivated person with experience in providing thought leadership, solving complex problems and formulating high-quality policy advice for a range of stakeholders and projects.

**Ideally you will also have**:

- Significant experience leading complex policy projects within central government with a focus on economic and trade policy
- Strong stakeholder relationship building, influencing and engagement skills to gain the cooperation and commitment of others
- Demonstrated thought-leadership across the machinery of government
- The ability to work through ambiguity and deliver results

The Trade and Supply Chains team leads the policy work, domestic and international engagements in order to enhance New Zealand's trade links and supply chain resilience for critical sectors.
