As our Chief Advisor - Service Design, you'll play a pivotal role in transforming education workforce services from the ground up.

This role is responsible for guiding the design process, facilitating collaboration and ensuring the successful delivery of service design solutions that enhance the experience of the education workforce towards achieving positive and equitable outcomes for ākonga. **Mōhou ake | About you**

You will have the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels, to achieve shared results, as well as strong written and oral communication skills and ability to adjust style to the needs of the audience.

You have great creative thinking skills, with the ability to approach challenges with a design thinking mindset and a keen ability to generate and evaluate innovative ideas and solutions.

You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.

You will also demonstrate:

- An advanced knowledge of human-centric design and extensive experience in service design, user experience (UX) design, or related fields.
- Previous experience leading improvement initiatives and a track record of bringing people together and leading, coaching and mentoring others to achieve outcomes.

**Mātau rōpū ake | About our group and team**

Te Pou Ohumahi Mātauranga | Education Workforce is a key part of the Ministry.

We develop the education workforce strategy, including a focus on specialist services, employment relations, pay equity, education payroll, supply and scholarship functions. Our group ensures the system has the right people in the right places at the right time for early learning, kōhanga reo, schools and kura. We have links to tertiary education organisations, in particular wānanga, iwi and Māori, peak bodies and others, in the co-design of solutions to workforce challenges, such as provision of teachers with te reo and mātauranga Māori knowledge and Pacific languages.

The newly established Workforce Design Team within Te Pou Ohumahi Mātauranga is focused on making key improvements to the services and initiatives offered to our education workforce, so that they are easy to access and navigate. We work with the sector to understand the needs of users and design integrated, equitable and accessible solutions.
