**The opportunity**

We are looking for an experienced Risk and Assurance Manager to support the Council's Audit, Risk and Finance Committee. In this role, you will collaborate across the organisation to deliver internal audit and risk assurance services while leading the Council's risk framework.

The role requires a strong understanding of internal audit procedures, including experience in audit planning, execution and reporting. You should also be familiar in risk management principles and capable of preparing detailed reports to support the Risk Management function. Additionally, you will contribute to the Audit, Risk and Finance Committee's work plans, and be confident presenting reports at an executive level.

In this role you will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring the annual internal audit programme, business continuity planning, insurance, as well as overseeing Council's risk framework, initiatives, strategies, policies and procedures. Additionally, this role involves identifying and promoting opportunities for process improvement to add value to the business.

To set you up for success, you'll have;
- Qualifications as a Chartered Accountant or similar.
- The ability to think strategically with a broad insight into internal audit and risk practices and principles.
