- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade is looking for a Reporting and Visualisation Analyst to join our Data and Analytics Services team._

**About the role** - **Korero mo te turanga**

The Reporting and Visualisation Analyst role sits within the Ministry's Knowledge, Information and Analytics team. The purpose of the role is to ensure that Ministry staff and other stakeholders have information and data at their fingertips, and are enabled to make evidence-based decisions, through creating high-quality intuitive data and analytics products, which convey the meaning of that data in a powerful and compelling way. In the role you will:

- Partner with business stakeholders to develop a good understanding of their needs and challenges.
- Develop compelling and intuitive reports and visualisations that inform Ministry decision-making and insight.
- Take responsibility for the quality of assigned work, including evaluation of data quality and testing of work.
- Enable the production of quality and timely reports and visualisations by analysts in the business both through capability building and through implementation of governance policies.

The full salary range for this role is $70,784 to $90,446 total remuneration, inclusive of our 3% KiwiSaver employer contribution. The midpoint is $78,649 - We expect to appoint closer to the midpoint depending on your level of experience.

**Who are we looking for? - Ma wai te mahi nei?**

We'd like to hear from you if you are an experienced Reporting and Visualisation Analyst with the following skills and experience:

- You will love visualising data so that it can tell stories that have real impact for users.
- Have 3 years' experience with the development of data visualisations and reports using Power BI and SQL.
- Have a tertiary qualification in information management, data management/science or analytics (or similar).
- Have a highly developed sense of the requirements of good governance and the need to adhere to sound processes.
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills and enjoy working with collaboratively with stakeholders and fellow team members using agile project management methodology.
- Ability to front and facilitate presentations, including user requirements gathering, presentation of data products, and delivery of training to other analysts around the Ministry.
- Experience working within a Data Warehouse environment a bonus.
- Understanding of The Treaty of Waitangi/Te Tiriti, Te Reo Maori and Maori customs and protocols would be beneficial.
