The Māori Health Directorate are the kaitiaki for Manatū Hauora in regard to leading our response to its obligations to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Māori health aspirations and requirements, and equity in health outcomes for all New Zealanders.
The Māori Crown Engagement team sits within the Māori Crown Relations group, which provides advice to improve health outcomes for Māori and build trusted Māori Crown relationships within a complex and challenging health system.
In this role you will provide input into wider Māori Crown relations including management of all health-related accords, relationship, and other agreements between iwi, hapū and other Māori entities. You will advise on developing sustainable and effective relationships and support cross-agency partnerships with iwi, hapū and Māori groups.

- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to foster good stakeholder relationships
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge and experience of the Crown's obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, te reo Māori and tikanga Māori
- Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy and confidentiality
