**The Project**:
The Christchurch City Council's Smart Christchurch team is committed to ensuring Christchurch citizens are able to access valuable information and data to enhance their lives. The Council also aims to enhance food security in the city. Currently, while there are a variety of food banks and related organisations around the city, there is no single source where those with excess food can find the locations of places where they might be able to donate it. This project is about making the location information of food bank drop off points publicly available through the Smart Christchurch app

**Purpose of the Project**

The project will identify the list of food bank and other food drop off options throughout the city, find out their details and GPS co-ordinates and place this information in a format to be added to the app.

**Key Responsibilities**
- _ Researching places that accept food donations._
- _ Contacting each place to confirm what they accept, opening hours etc._
- _ Confirming the GPS co-ordinates of each _
- _Photographing as many donation points as possible_

**Key Skills and Experience**:

- _ Communication skills_
- _ Experience with data collection and collation._
- _ Time management_
- _ Organisational skills_
- _ An interest in food security_
- _ Spreadsheet/GPS - can be trained._

**Desired qualification or Department of College**
- _ Data science_
- _ Environmental science or management_

**Hours of work**:
60-70 hours - flexibility on mutual agreement.

This is unpaid/voluntary position commencing Semester two
