Service Engineer

**Job Description**:
**2x full-time Service Engineering positions available.**

To work as part of the operational team, providing specialist engineering services / maintenance resources to the production team to ensure the efficient running of machinery, tooling and equipment.

**To achieve best practice OEE by maintaining equipment with a high level of workmanship**:

- To ensure that all staff are aware of their housekeeping responsibilities._ _To identify initiatives that will improve the overall level of housekeeping._ _To set very high expectations and to lead by example in terms of the level of housekeeping required._ _To ensure the plant actively manages risks relating to food grade manufacture with a Good Manufacturing _Programme that follows HACCP principles_

**To maintain good housekeeping within the plant at all times** _Provide effective and timely solutions to equipment issues_ _Develop automation and improvement concepts_ _Support maintenance upgrade plans for key machines with the Engineering Manager_ _Provide practical skills, knowledge and time management to assist in to successfully implement projects with _completion on time and in budget_

**To assist in the development of productivity and continuous improvement projects** Update and maintain_ _Preventative maintenance systems and electronic database_ _To ensure maintenance activity is scheduled and monitored_ _To maintain the asset data and spares inventory_ _To provide continuous improvement of equipment_

**To update and maintain **Maintenance and Equipment Management and Control Systems** _Provide excellence in RCA of machinery and equipment performance issues_ _To ensure maintenance activities are performed to a high standard_ _To provide service activities of equipment in mechanical and electronic operation_

**MAJOR CHALLENGES**:

- Providing an excellent level of service through multiple engineering disciplines.
- Time management and prioritisation of work.
- Keeping up with new disciplines, processes, technology and equipment.
- Ensuring that health and safety requirements are always met.
- Repairing and upgrading machines and essential services for maximum reliability and efficiency whilst maintaining costs within budget.
- Providing direction to support services and contractors.

**DECISIONS EXPECTED**:

- Maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment and tooling.
- Machine and tooling modifications and continuous improvements
- Machine and component selection.
- Tasks within workshop capabilities.

**RECOMMENDATIONS EXPECTED**
- Efficient, timely and cost-effective solutions.
- Process improvements and efficiency gains through better design and/or construction.
- Efficiency, technology, brands and future proofing.
- Assistance with the selection of contractors.
