- As the leader of a dynamic team of multidisciplinary engineering professionals
- Providing technical and engineering advice for building consents, resource consents, building enforcement activities and building control services
- Playing a pivotal role in driving collaborative efforts to achieve key performance indicators.
- Implementing best practices and promoting continuous improvement in our processes and systems across the Council
- Working alongside experienced industry leaders, you will have the chance to inspire, motivate performance, and further develop your leadership abilities.

**About you**:
This role offers a unique broad scope of responsibility involving broad tasks. With your engineering degree and experience in the commercial construction sector, you will adeptly engage stakeholders at all levels, building trust and effortlessly handling complaint escalations. To be successful in this role you will have:

- An engineering degree e.g. BE or ME
- A registeration with Engineering New Zealand (EngNZ)
- At least 15 years building industry experience with at least 5 of those years in a leadership role within a large organisation.
- Previous experience in leading a Local Government or Central Government Building Control function.
- A sound knowledge of the Building Act, Resource Management Act and Local Government Official Information & Meetings Act and related processes.
