Our client is a global manufacturing company, a market leader in the shipbuilding and marine equipment manufacturing industry. In order to grow the organization and strengthen its engineering team in Oceania, our client wants to recruit a:
**Marine **Service Engineer**
**(Based in New Zealand)**
**ORGANISATION**:
You will be reporting to the Country Head in Australia and will be in charge of providing both onsite (shipyards) and offsite service and support to customers. This is a remote role and will require you to be hands-on as you work independently onsite to resolve any operational issues on the company installed equipment within New Zealand and Australia. In addition, you will also be responsible for customer relationship management and will be involved in pre-sales activity in the region.
**YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Installation, commissioning, validation, and maintenance of capital equipment onsite (shipyards) and at the company workshop.
- Serve as a customer-facing technical engineer. Work in collaboration with Australia based expert technicians and clients.
- Building relationships with existing customers and developing relationship with new customers together with the team in the region.
- Create and maintain installation data, service information, and repair log in the company enterprise database.
**YOUR PROFILE**:
- You have a degree in Marine, Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering, or equivalent work experience in marine capital equipment.
- Minimum 5 years of technical experience in repairs, maintenance, and commissioning work in marine or shipping or offshore industry.
- Experience working on machinery or equipment like engines, gearboxes, or propulsion systems will be an added advantage.
- You are willing to travel across New Zealand, in Australia and other international locations.
- You have good analytical skills with the ability to solve challenging problems at the customer end.
- You have good communication skills, able to work independently and hands-on.
