He angitūtanga | About the role
As one of the Geospatial Information Analysts, you will work as part of a dedicated team of professionals based around the country and play a key role in providing Geospatial information services internally and externally. This is an opportunity for someone who has an established GIS career (minimum of three years practical experience).
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
You will have a sound understanding of GIS (theory and practical) and experience in systems analysis and modelling, and experience in using the ESRI ArcGIS platform in an Enterprise environment, including ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap and Pro), ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Online/Portal for ArcGIS. Experience with FME, Python or SAP would be beneficial but not essential. You will have experience in building relationships with clients and identifying business and user requirements to ensure that solutions are fit for purpose. You will also have strengths in data sharing, security, and data management.
To be successful you will have a strong technical orientation, but equally importantly bring the interpersonal, communication and engagement skills to be effective in a changing, dynamic and diverse organisation. You will be able to work effectively within the team and the wider organisation and have the necessary initiative and problem-solving skills required to provide solutions. This role has the scope and diversity to broaden and enhance your GIS career, and you will be involved with future-focused projects and be viewed as an industry specialist.

The Geospatial Services team empowers users from across (and beyond) Te Papa Atawhai to utilise, interrogate, analyse, present, and consume integrated spatial and aspatial data to enhance prioritisation, planning, delivery and reporting on, conservation outcomes for New Zealand. This includes a focus on GIS support for data collection, curation, visualisations, and insights across the full range of our business, and conservation work undertaken by others.
