**About you**:
- We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer-focused Spatial Analyst, who will respond to requests for spatial information and provide data outputs in a variety of formats for both internal and external clients.
- Do you like variety and delivering efficiently to customers? This exciting role constantly has new challenges coming on to the to-do list that require someone to have good customer service and problem-solving skills and the ability to find out and potentially grow their own solution centred skills.
- Do you want to broaden your GIS skills? It’s a varied role covering a range of tasks including the creation and maintenance of datasets, analysis, and mapping to produce a high standard of outputs.
- You will be part of a talented team made up of Spatial Analysts and Data Management Analysts who have significant workloads but have a great can-do attitude, team spirit and a sense of fun. The team sits within the Spatial Information Section.
- Your high-level communication skills combined with your self-motivation and attention to detail will ensure your success in this role.
**Qualifications & Experience**:
Relevant tertiary qualification in GIS, geography, computer science or information technology or 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Proven knowledge, experience and understanding of ArcGIS products
- Proven knowledge and experience of Office 365
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
- Strategic and tactical thinking skills
- Political awareness and skill in dealing with sensitive and confidential issues (including bi-cultural sensitivity)
- Proven success at building relationships and resolving issues with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to deliver in a political environment that could be high pressure and rapidly changing.
**About the role**:
- Undertake requests for spatial information and provide outputs in a variety of formats (such as map production and data provision) to various internal and external clients
- Carry out spatial analysis to meet the information needs of various internal and external clients
- Maintain and create relevant data sets and metadata to Waikato Regional Council standards
- Provide backup support for Spatial Information and Data Management Team members as required
- Provide Spatial Information support for corporate and/or regional collaboration projects requiring spatial analysis, as required
