Program Manager

**Responsibilities**
- You will be accountable for the successful delivery of network deployment and migration programs and the consequent achievement of business and technical outcomes for our key customers.
- You will clarify scope, plan, cost and schedule delivery programs and projects from start to finish from presales proposal input through to delivery acceptance and project closure.
- You will partner with internal and external customers to translate requirements into structured and executable tasks and deliverables and facilitate communication amongst project partners in support of project execution.
- You will be accountable for developing and coordinating carefully designed and approved action plans to successfully complete projects and will document and communicate project status, obstacles and resolutions to management.
- You will act as the primary point person for all aspects of the project, ensuring timely customer contact relative to project activity as well as with project partners and suppliers
- You will be able to manage multiple projects and balance priorities to avoid negative outcomes such as customer discontent or escalations
- You will identify business opportunities and work with sales teams to develop additional consulting and customer engineering projects/programs.

**Experience and Skills**
- Bachelors degree (or equivalent work experience). Advanced management qualifications such as an MBA would be a bonus.
- Significant demonstrable experience in project and program management in the Telecommunications sector is required - 15+ years of relevant experience.
- PMP or similar certification for traditional project delivery approaches
- Experience of hybrid or agile delivery methodologies would also be advantageous
- Technically oriented program management experience is necessary and should include experience in management of telecommunication network related delivery.
- An understanding of networking technologies is an advantage and could include virtualization and networking technology certifications - common projects include deployment of optical networking technology, IP networking (L2/L3, security, routing protocols, network design) and support for intehration to related NMS or virtualized components.
- Experience of migration projects including multiple hardware vendors and/or adoption of new network technology is a significant advantage
- Strong negotiation skills to work with customers and resource owners. Ability to mentor and lead by influence and collaboration.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communications skills. Strong quantitative skills. Attention to statement of work details. Customer and partner facing skills.
- Self-motivated to drive success based on organizational goals and to provide leadership as well as management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- The ability to travel throughout NZ to support customer program objectives is necessary
