A Certified Machine Safety Expert (CMSE®) like you, brings experience and a systematic process to help ensure that equipment is safe and compliant. We are looking for a safety engineer that can progress the safety process from the beginning all the way through to on-site commissioning and verification.
In conjunction with local machine safety standards like AS4024, or international ISO and IEC standards, you will enable the provision of all the documentation to leave businesses and employees protected from accidents and litigation.

**About the Senior Machine Safety Engineer role**:
- Reports to the Director of Operations
- Develops and implements safety documentation, templates, policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Facilitate HAZOPs - both internally and with clients.
- Conducts and reviews safety risk assessments, hazard analysis, and safety audits to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams to ensure that safety requirements are incorporated into design, development, and testing.
- Develops and delivers safety training programs for employees, contractors, and vendors to ensure that safety standards are understood and adhered to.
- Coordinates with external safety regulators and industry associations to ensure that safety requirements are met, and best practices are shared.
- Develops and maintains safety documentation, including safety manuals, safety procedures, and safety data sheets.
- Participates in incident investigations and root cause analyses and develops corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
**About you**:
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in safety, mechanical, electrical, or mechatronic engineering.
- You have 5+ years of experience in safety engineering in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- You show in-depth knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and industry best practices, including AS/NZS 4024, ISO 13849, IEC 61508, and ANSI B11.
- You have experience in safety risk assessments, hazard analysis, and safety audits.
- You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex safety issues.
- You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- You provide technical guidance and support to project teams.
- A Professional certification like Certified Machine Safety Expert (CMSE), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Certified Functional Safety Expert (CFSE) would be a plus.
