The team are responsible for the initiation of projects, working together with experts, at the start making sense of requirements to ensure we're building the right thing, the right way. Using our expertise in road safety and safety in design to improve the safety and performance of the transport system. The opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi We are recruiting Senior Safety Engineers in Dunedin, Auckland, and Central North Island, these roles are fundamental in supporting and informing the team responsible for System Design and Delivery and play a key role in ensuring traffic and safety policies, procedures and standards are robustly developed, analysed, and implemented. About you | Ko koe tēnei To succeed as a Senior Safety Engineer you'll have:

- A qualification, degree or technical diploma, or equivalent in the area of highway or traffic engineering and will be able to demonstrate your experience in road safety engineering and/or traffic engineering,
- Experience with programme management methodologies,
- An awareness and understanding of the Safe System approach,
- Knowledge and understanding of the applicability and effectiveness of potential safety improvements and
- An understanding of key data sources (CAS, RAMM, High speed data, KiwiRAP) is preferable
