The Opportunity
We're looking for an enthusiastic and creative Machine Learning Engineer to join our Vision Team. You'll be a key player, shaping and growing our innovative products—from training state-of-the-art machine learning models to building pipelines for end to end train, test, and deployment of those models. If you're excited by computer vision, machine learning, and applying tech to real world applications, you'll fit in here.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Design and implementation of computer vision models, both prototype quality for early experiments and production quality for real-world use.
- Continuously optimise model performance to improve accuracy and adapt to different environments.
- Improving ML infrastructure: Set up efficient pipelines to automate training and deployment processes.
- Staying up to date with latest developments on computer vision techniques and algorithms.
- Sharing your ideas clearly and effectively, whether through conversations, documentation, or presentations.
Your Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience with deep learning based computer vision and working within vision systems that interact with the real world.
- experience building training and deployment pipelines of deep learning models.
- Rapid iteration and experimentation skills, ability to quickly evaluate ideas and test their fit to the product needs, ability to plan, setup and implement experiments.
- Classical computer vision knowledge (edge detectors, 3d projections onto 2d space).
- Experience with AWS (ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, Sagemaker).
- Experience in fast-paced startup environments where pragmatic solutions take priority over academic perfection.
- Strong communicator who enjoys collaborating and sharing with teammates.
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Experience with camera hardware and lighting, especially around handling colour in varied environments
Our Tech Stack:
- Python backend (image processing and inference) deployed on AWS ECS
- APIs running across ECS, Lambda, and API Gateway
- Machine learning models trained and deployed in AWS
