**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**
In this role, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of best practice corporate communications, aligned to AT's corporate communications strategies.
This role plays a crucial part in building understanding of transport outcomes, and helps build understanding of AT's role, and delivering enterprise-wide communications and stakeholder plans in complex environments to deliver positive outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing timely and thoughtful corporate communications advice to achieve AT's communications outcomes.
- Preparing integrated communications plans that consider both internal and external audiences, political or changing context and operating environment and delivering these plans to solve complex issues and mitigate risk, on issues, plans and projects that have significant public interest.
- Complex problem solving, with a deep understanding of underlying contexts and outcomes sought, while managing the needs of a range of stakeholders to deliver positive outcomes.
- Monitor and proactively manage reputational risks and issues with the corporate communications team in a timely manner.
- Please note: This is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity._
**Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?**
- 8-10 years' experience in communications roles or a similar field such as journalism or government relations.
- An understanding of the public sector and local government landscape.
- Experience writing and delivering communications strategies in complex environments.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in communications or business
- Ability to build key strategic and trusted relationships
- Ability to deliver complex political and public related messages with empathy
- IAP2 accreditation (desirable)
