As Auckland has grown, so has our need for property to enable the delivery of specialist and complex transport facilities for our communities.
We are responsible for buying land for those transport facilities, and our Property Acquisition team work directly with landowners to ensure that compensation is negotiated fairly in the interests of both ratepayers and those affected landowners.
We have an opportunity available for a Principal Property Specialist who is responsible for providing strategic property advice and delivering the acquisition programmes for our projects, ensuring that acquisitions are completed on time and within the financial requirements of our projects.
**About the role**
As a **Principal** **Property Specialist** you will prepare strategies for acquiring land and guidance to support achievement of the project programme. You will lead input into all aspects of property, in particular property acquisition and negotiation including procurement of. You'll work on many diverse transformational projects with a wide range of parties and experts in your profession and related disciplines.
**What we are looking for**
We want the best. We need property professionals who are proactive, outcome driven and contribute to the diverse thinking of the team. Ideally, they will have experience in delivering acquisition programmes for infrastructure work underpinned by a relevant qualification in property, law, valuation or business.
Effective Stakeholder engagement is key to the success of this role. We are looking for experienced communicators with a proven track record of dealing with affected parties in both commercially and emotionally sensitive circumstances.
You will ideally have solid experience gained within the private or public sector, be highly organised and thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
**Other key requirements include**:
- A tertiary qualification in Property, Law, Valuation or Business
- Commercial acumen and understanding of valuation methodologies and processes is highly desirable
- Ideally some property acquisition experience with the public sector or property development
- Practical knowledge of procurement/project management principles and practices
