We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT Change Manager to join NZ Customs. This role would ideally suit someone with a strong understanding of IS change management processes who thrives in a busy environment, has an eye for detail and great organisation skills
**Your responsibilities in this role will include...**
- Own and manage the end-to-end IT Change Management process across the enterprise including the change management plan, roadmap, and calendar.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate and enable changes. Minimise the risk to both ICT environments and Production systems.
- Facilitate clear communication about changes, timelines, and impacts to minimise confusion and resistance from stakeholders.
- Identify and implement process improvements. Collaborate with IS Product Managers, the Change Advisory Board and other relevant parties to meet the needs of the IS business and technical areas.
- Conduct post implementation reviews (PIRS) for Failed and Unauthorised changes and oversee the Failed Change process.
- Provide regular reporting to IS management and other stakeholders for change management performance. This includes volume of change, change success rate and change failure rate.
- Ensure the Forward Schedule of Change (FSC) is maintained and communicated to help coordinate and prevent conflicting changes. Facilitate activities and liaise with stakeholders to resolve conflicts and minimise risks.

- Ability to identify audience needs (users, project teams, managers, leadership).
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, able to work well under constant pressure, able to prioritise work assignments, and manage deliverables under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making capability, including the ability to identify problems, manage or mitigate risks and recommend innovative solutions that take immediate, and longer term, consequences into account.
- Demonstrated interpersonal excellence, using verbal and non-verbal communication techniques to ensure clarity of message and achieve the desired result. This includes the ability to speak in public and achieve buy-in from external stakeholders.
- Exceptional organisational skills including prioritising and meeting deadlines.
- Excellent relationship management skills, including the ability to engage at all levels of the organisation.
**Working for New Zealand Customs**
To join Customs in any role you must be a **New Zealand citizen** or **New Zealand permanent resident** and be able to obtain and maintain an Organisational Security clearance.
**OR**
Because of the nature of Customs' work you must have a clear Police record. Organisational security clearances are mandatory and are conducted by Customs. You will also be required to pass a drug test.
You must have a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed by the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service towards a recommendation of suitability for security clearance at a higher level.
