The opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi We are looking for a Senior Transport Engineer to bring their Subject Matter Expertise to Waka Kotahi and collaborate across the organisation, providing technical advice and support to achieve the delivery of multimodal, safe, sustainable, and integrated transportation networks. You'll be actively engaged with the transport planning, project management, asset management and network performance teams undertaking detailed design reviews of proposed safety and traffic engineering improvements and will have input into large capital projects. About you | Ko koe tēnei We are looking for experience and confidence and you'll thrive on collaborating diverse internal and external stakeholders. To succeed in this role you'll bring:

- Sound transport design and solution engineering capability
- A simple approach to solving technical problems
- Proven ability to guide delivery to meet defined outcomes
- Strong awareness and understanding of the Safe System approach
- Understanding of transport data and modelling outcomes and their interpretations
- The ability to effectively present proposals at both a technical and non-technical level
- Knowledge of the commercial operation of contractors and consultants
