We have an exciting new opportunity within our Network Optimization team for a Principal Transport Engineer.

**About the Role**

Network Optimisation is the science of reducing congestion today by increasing the productivity of the roading network.

Reporting to the Operations, Planning and Performance Manager, you will lead the optimisation programme to improve the operation and performance of Auckland's multi-modal transportation network.

This includes being the expert on transport network optimisation and operations.

You will assist in delivering a safe and integrated traffic & transportation network to enable optimal multi-modal network performance.

Lead the optimisation programme to improve the operation and performance of a multi-modal transportation network.

Supervise the team of transport engineers developing the optimisation programme and improving the operation and performance of the integrated multi-modal transport network.

**To be considered for this role, you will have**:

- Minimum of 10 years relevant post graduate experience in transport engineering and/ or transport management/operations
- Experience leading a project/programme team
- Demonstrated disciplined approach to managing a significant programme
- Ability to establish and utilise effective systems and processes to monitor programme performance
- Ability to identify risks in a timely manner and act to mitigate or escalate
