**The opportunity**:

- Your new leadership role as an Associate Director in the Wellington Advisory team will see you building and growing our Economic and Social Development Impact practice.
- Located within our Consulting team, you will help KPMG to deliver solutions and approaches to further support our clients across Government, Māori business and private sector to address critical social, economic and environmental issues of today and tomorrow.
- We will draw on your experience in community, social, environmental or economic development to help drive and deliver projects such as organisational transformation, human centred design, integrated thinking and indigenous methodology (e.g. Kaupapa Māori) to help our clients deliver positive impact.
- This is a tailored role, you will need to have proven experience in business development, strong team leadership and programme delivery gained in a consulting environment or relevant sector experience as you'll be tasked with delivering work and playing your part in leading a high performing team of consultants.
- To be successful in this role you will be strong in navigating cross-cultural spaces, working with Māori frameworks and concepts, have a high proficiency in Māori cultural competency and at least an intermediate level of Te Reo Māori me ōna tikanga.

**Day to day you will**:

- Have a primary focus on business development in the national Aotearoa market serving clients across Māori, public and private sector organisations. Including identifying and proactively responding to new business opportunities and proactive relationship development, working on proposals and pitches.
- Contribute to the development of new service offerings and methodology for Government and sector reforms centred in indigenous methodology and authentic frameworks of engagement. You will be key to embedding these within our Advisory practice and supporting competency uplift.
- Negotiate and deliver on client expectations, ensuring customer and stakeholder satisfaction, through supporting clients deliver their transformation programmes.
- Identify and address opportunities to bring integrated thinking and/or indigenous and Māori methodology, social and economic transformation to the fore across the work we do at KPMG.
- Provide leadership and practical support to engagement teams in areas of cultural competence across te ao Māori including providing guidance on cultural queries, appropriate use of Te Reo Māori, cultural practice at internal and external events and in other situations.
- Develop and monitor project plans, plan overall work requirements of an engagement,
- that meets client timelines, risk management, budget and outcome requirements to ensure our service quality is maintained.
- Provide people and operational leadership to the team.

**What you'll bring to the team**:

- 7+ years of relevant practical consulting or sector experience (experience working in the Māori sector, or serving the Government sector as an employee or as a consultant)
- 5+ years of leadership experience
- High proficiency in Māori cultural competency and at least an intermediate level of Te Reo Māori me ōna tikanga
- Passion for improving social outcomes and reducing inequity for New Zealanders and drive to positively impact the Sustainable Development Goals, increase inclusion and improve lives.
- Existing trusted relationships with key stakeholders in the Aotearoa market.
- Experience in growing and building a practice and/or demonstrated ability in business development or advisory.
- Can operate effectively in a complex stakeholder landscape, being able to employ a range of relationship and interaction strategies to achieve outcomes.
