**Te āhuatunga a te tūranga/About the Role**

The Senior Risk Management Consultant is responsible for providing the Corporate and Digital Services (CDS) Group with high quality risk management information and advice that supports the overall effectiveness of the group and provides greater certainty around achievement of business objectives. They are responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of pragmatic fit-for-purpose frameworks and methodologies that enable CDS Group to understand its risk profile, identify areas of exposure and prioritise funding and resourcing to maximise risk benefit.

They are responsible for monitoring the quality of CDS Group and business unit risk information to ensure it is fit-for-purpose and aligned with the Ministry's Enterprise Risk Management Framework and generally accepted good practice. They are responsible for the development and execution of assurance plans that target management of key CDS and business unit risks and for communicating progress against these plans through meaningful reporting.

The Senior Risk Management Consultant provides coaching and expertise to managers and staff across CDS to drive a positive shift in risk management culture and capability with a focus on continuous improvement. Within Resilience and Assurance Services they provide intellectual leadership and coaching for others in the team.

The Senior Advisor will need to work closely with the Ministry's Corporate Risk and Assurance teams and with the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office to ensure a collaborative approach to managing risk.

To be successful in the role you will need
- Relevant industry and technical qualification and/or certifications.
- At least three years experience working in a risk management context.
- Strong customer focus.
- Proven development, maintenance, control and distribution of risk mitigations processes.
- Implementation of robust risk management frameworks.

At Te Tāhū o te Ture - the Ministry of Justice, we're committed to working together for a fair and safe Aotearoa.

Resilience and Assurance Services (RAS) maintain and assure protective security and privacy strategy, policy, guidelines and processes, to ensure that protective security (including cyber security, information security, physical security and personnel security) and privacy risk across Te Tāhū o te Ture is understood and managed appropriately. The team has an expert understanding of industry standards and best practice and are the Te Tāhū o te Ture's co-ordination point with the Government Chief Information Security Officer (GCISO) and Government Chief Privacy Officer (GCPO) as well as for the security intelligence agencies (i.e. GCSB, NCSC, NZSIS).

The team has responsibility for delivering a range of specialist consultancy services to both the Corporate & Digital Services (CDS) group and wider Te Tāhū o te Ture including:
