Your Opportunity

Stantec’s Community Development team has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Communications and Engagement Consultant to join our New Zealand-wide team, in Wellington. The purpose of this role is to provide professional communications, stakeholder and community engagement advice to our clients. In addition, identifying opportunities for new business in these fields will ensure Stantec’s business strategies are realised.

Your Key Responsibilities


Provide technical leadership in stakeholder engagement and communications work to support Stantec projects, including the development and review of stakeholder engagement plans, policies, communication strategies and their implementation on infrastructure, master planning and standalone engagement projects.


Lead or assist with stakeholder and community assessments, facilitation and focus groups.


Develop, support and attend stakeholder and community engagement events as part of project planning representing the client and Stantec


Engage in a range of project work combining stakeholder and community engagement, communications and consultation monitoring and evaluation.


Develop and review communication strategies and stakeholder engagement plans.


Develop and expand Stantec capability in the field of stakeholder engagement, including obtaining new clients and/or new work from existing clients.


Input into proposals for relevant Stantec projects to ensure that services meet or exceed client expectations.


Lead stakeholder and community assessments, facilitation and focus groups.

Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including the use of Adobe Creative Cloud, Procore and ProjectWise
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including good judgment and influencing skills
- Community engagement experience
- Strong customer/client focus
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Experience in dealing with conflict
- Demonstrated ability to critically examine systems, processes and information to develop better ways of working
- Can quickly pick up work or tasks with mínimal direction

Education and Experience
- As a minimum you will have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification / experience plus PRINZ membership or IAP2 certification is preferable.
- Experience in consulting, government or industry, and specialising in communication and engagement is essential.

**Qualifications**

Education and Experience
