Property Services is proud to support New Zealand's first university by providing the best facilities, services and physical environment in which staff, students and the general public can learn, teach, live and play.

From overseeing the design and construction of award-winning buildings, fixing broken light bulbs, booking office space, cutting the grass and trimming hedges, we help keep the five University of Otago campuses humming.

**_ The role/Te mahi_**

As the Building Services Team Leader, your focus will be on the daily management, planning and coordination of all building maintenance and project activities by permanent and casual staff, apprentices and external contractors on the University of Otago, Dunedin campus.
- Key tasks of this role include:

- Managing and supervising workload, related trades and contractors on a daily basis.
- Providing professional advice to clients on all building maintenance trade matters.
- Ensuring all work carried out meets required quality and regulatory standards.
- Undertaking and ensuring building compliance checks are carried out across campus.
- Contributing to the resolution of any code of compliance issues and building warrant of fitness items.
- Coordinating with Property Services colleagues on the maintenance of services on campus.
- Managing documentation process of As Built’s and Operation Manuals for all building maintenance undertakings on the Otago Campus.
- Managing and overseeing staff and apprentice associated registrations and licencing.

To be successful in this role you will be client centred with a strong service ethic and excellent people and communication skills.
- Trade Specific/Business Management Qualifications.
- Experience and practical sound knowledge of the building maintenance/construction sector.
- Experience co-ordinating building/joinery/painting and other trade-related contractors.
- A successful record of working in a dynamic team environment and leadership role.
- The ability to effectively manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Ideally, you will also have one or all of the following:

- Independent Qualified Person (IQP).
- Licenced Building Practitioner (LBP).
- Project or Construction Management affiliations.
