We are looking for an energetic and motivated Team Leader for our Residential Houses in Christchurch. You will lead a team in supporting our people to live as independently as possible whilst also providing a safe environment where they can develop confidence, build friendships, and interact within the community.

We are looking for a full time Team Leader who can utilise the Enabling Good Lives principles in supporting a young man working towards independence while living a full and engaging life in the community.

There will be a mixture of morning, afternoon, and evening shifts spanning across the week, so having the flexibility to support your team across a variety of shifts is a key part of this role.

A Team Leader assists people with disabilities to live as independently as possible, as well as leading and motivating their team. Your day will involve a range of responsibilities and could include:

- Activities at home and in the community that are meaningful and purposeful to the people, including maximizing independence and involving Whanau.
- Household duties including meal preparation, daily care routines, and personal cares.
- Working together with a team to implement personal support plans consistently, with effective and positive teamwork and communication.
- Providing people with a warm and nurturing environment to live in, which is inclusive of ideas and feedback so that each person is supported towards their personal goals.

- Relevant caregiving experience, including personal cares.
- Experience in working with people who express themselves with behaviour that some may find challenging.
- Pro-active quick thinkers with energy and enthusiasm who can utilise the Enabling Good Lives principles.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, including experience in the disability sector and behaviours considered challenging.
- Ideally leadership experience, or a genuine desire to develop your leadership expertise.
- Ability to tailor your leadership approach to meet individual learning styles.
- A warm, calm, and friendly personality with a passion for supporting people to achieve positive outcomes for themselves.
- A full NZ Driver License and ability to transport passengers confidently and safely in our disability vans.
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts across a roster, including weekends.
