We have an exciting opportunity for an inspirational people leader to join our Regulatory Compliance leadership team.

As Team Leader, you will lead a team of 8 Compliance Officers, providing clear direction in relation to compliance, monitoring and enforcement activities under a range of legislation.

A strong focus on of this role will be to take responsibility for providing support and advice on a variety of activities associated with the Resource Management Act 1991 and Christchurch District Plan Rules, which include, monitoring and ensuring compliance with resource consent conditions, quarry consents, sediment and erosion control etc.

Alongside team leadership, an integral part of the role is to work collaboratively with stakeholders and other Team Leaders across Council to deliver positive outcomes for our community, provide input into policy development and other projects which will assist the Council in fulfilling its requirements under legislation.

We're looking for someone that can demonstrate:

- Knowledge, experience or qualifications in either planning, resource management, compliance and investigation
- Experience managing complex complaints and investigations
- Experience in leading teams including coaching and mentoring skills to build capability
- Sound judgement and communication skills with the ability to communicate to a wide range of people
- Well-developed business management skills

**Additional information**:

- Hours of work_ - Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
- Salary_ - The salary range for this position is approximately $80,000 - $120,000 and is dependent on the agreement
- Location_ - This position is primarily based at the Christchurch City Council Civic Offices at 53 Hereford Street
- Whilst staff working at the Christchurch City Council are not currently required to be vaccinated, applicants need to be aware that should the COVID-19 environment change, roles across the organisation will be assessed, and the requirement to be vaccinated may be reviewed._
