**Te Tākinatanga | Our Story**
- Ko tā Contact e whakapono nei, ko te taiao tonu te taonga nui katoa o te ao._
- Koinei mātou e whai atu nei kia mahue atu i a mātou tētahi ao hauora ake, tēnā i te ora i kuhu ai mātou._
- He pakihi whakarato hiko, ipurangi mātou, engari arā kē atu anō ā mātou taha._
- Kei te whakawhanake mātou i ā mātou mahi ake, i ngā ara hoki e whai hiko ai a Aotearoa, kei te kōkiri kia tukua te hiko tukurua, ā, kei te whakaputa i tētahi wheako matihiko mō ā mātou kiritaki kāore anō kia kitea i tēnei whenua._
- He tīma kotahi mano mātou nō ngā hau e whā, e ngākau nui ana ki ā mātou mahi, e aroha ana tētahi ki tētahi, e ako ngātahi ana, e whakapono tahi ana ki ā mātou tikanga ārahi: mā te manaaki kia toa, ka mana te katoa._
At Contact, we believe home is the most important place in the world. It's all part of our vision to leave Aotearoa better than we found it. We’re a power and broadband company, but we’re so much more than that. We are transforming the ways we mahi, and how Aotearoa is powered, leading the charge on renewable energy and digitising customer journeys in ways not yet seen here. A team of 1000+ from all walks of life who love what we do, look out for each other, and learn from one another every day, we’re stoked to be guided by our tikanga: we touch lives to make life better.
**Job Description**:
**Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role***
We’re on a journey to transform our business end-to-end - no mean feat as one of Aotearoa’s largest listed companies, with market capitalisation of around NZ$6 billion and over 65,000 shareholders & 3,500 debt investors. Alongside our business transformation, we’re investing billions into renewable energy, and this role will play a key part in bringing both stories to life. As Group Reporting and Planning Manager, you’ll work at group level to facilitate all the numbers coming together, ensure they’re right, liaise with our investor relations and external reporting teams, and ultimately help tell the story of Contact as we change the energy landscape in New Zealand.
Reporting to our Head of Wholesale Finance & Financial Control (who used to be in this role), you’ll lead a robust, cohesive team of six in a truly commercial role jam-packed with process improvement, reporting, planning and facilitating forecasting and budgeting rounds, management of a Payment Services team of three, and working with the accountants in the team to business partner with CEs across their cost centres and budgets.
The energy sector is interesting at the best of times, but here, we’re really walking the talk on ESG (corporate, societal, _and_ governance). If you want to do good, look no further: this role will contribute significantly to our mahi for a cleaner, greener, happier Aotearoa.
**Qualifications**:
**Ko wai koe | About you**
Detail-oriented and process-driven, you have a technical backing and understand technical concepts like financial accounting, cashflows, fixed assets and balance sheets, but beyond the technical, you have formidable commercial acumen****:
- and beyond _that_, you’re an authentic, EQ-driven leader with plenty of experience leading finance teams (ideally in a listed company).
You’ll also need to be CA-qualified (or equivalent) with good knowledge of accounting systems, experienced with internal reporting and group reporting (technical and commercial), skilled in the effective resolution of complex issues and problems and have the ability to develop tools that allow problems to be solved on a sustainable long-term basis.
Above all, you’re a team player, open and willing to learn, with a high degree of energy and integrity. Your working style is the opposite of transactional, equipping you to mentor meaningfully, drive continuous improvement, and build strong engagement and collaboration. This role will have core cross-functional relationships, so you’ll need to be a superb communicator; a thought leader who can build great rapport with ease, influence across various levels, and really bring people on the journey.
Additional Information
There are a bunch of perks to being a permanent Contact kaimahi (employee). Along with great leadership, teammates, development, and growth and progression opportunities, you’ll enjoy flexible working, free health insurance cover, better-than-your-average leave, access to Contact Shares, a ‘Good to be Home’ annual payment toward your home set up & wellbeing, a trail-blazing parental leave policy, discounts on Contact Energy products_, _and more.
