Mō te tūranga - About the role
As an External Reporting Specialist in ANZ’s External Reporting team, you’ll play a key role in supporting critical projects and reporting requirements, ensuring our practices are streamlined and our reporting obligations are met. This role in instrumental to our ongoing reporting compliance and will support the management and delivery of new and existing reporting initiatives across the business. You’ll be joining an established team of skilled and supportive reporting specialists who value collaboration, and work seamlessly together to deliver exceptional outcomes.

**As an External Reporting Specialist, you will**:
Prepare and review complex regulatory and financial reports, including regulatory returns, ANZ Group reporting, and disclosure statement notes, ensuring compliance with IFRS, Group policies, and regulatory standards.
Manage and support external reporting projects with a hands-on, analytical approach, offering well-supported recommendations through high-quality financial analysis and reconciliations.
Ensure accurate, well-documented analysis and timely responses to reviews, queries, and audit requests, with appropriate issue escalation.
Build strong relationships across the business to deliver practical, effective reporting solutions.
Assess upcoming regulatory and accounting changes to ensure positive outcomes and compliance with ANZ Finance policy.
Drive process improvements through simplification, standardisation, and automation where possible.
Provide clear, accurate communication and advice to internal stakeholders to ensure all reporting meets accounting, regulatory and statutory requirements and timelines.

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
Proven experience working in a financial services or auditing environment and managing complex projects across a large organisation
Chartered Accountant, Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) or equivalent
Have a proactive, curious mindset and be able to work independently within a busy work environment
Significant demonstrated experience with statutory and regulatory reporting and analysis in financial accounting regulatory reporting
Strong ability to be able to analyse data to make purposeful discoveries and support critical decision making
Ability to build critical working relationships with a range of stakeholders, and engage and influence wide audiences
Sound knowledge of IFRS
