Support Public Health Agency teams working on critical health equity priorities
- Use your excellent support, communication and administrative skills and make a direct contribution to the health and wellbeing of New Zealanders
- Salary midpoint of $70,106. Actual salary dependent on your experience
We have an opportunity someone who is excited about supporting three senior managers in the Public Health Agency who lead essential work on Māori and Pacific health equity, public health strategy and community sector stakeholder engagement.
This is an executive level support role that will enable you to contribute to and get directly involved in this work. The role would be most suited to someone who has experience in supporting multiple managers in what can sometimes be a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated experience with working in central government would be ideal, but this is not a necessity.
You will provide executive support to the people leaders for the Strategy, Monitoring and Engagement Group, the Pacific Health Team and the Hauora Māori Tūmatanui Team, as well as some administrative support to the wider groups.

The Public Health Agency sits at the heart of Manatū Hauora and leads all public health and population health policy, strategy, regulatory, intelligence, surveillance and monitoring functions, and has a key role in providing advice to Ministers on all public health matters. It provides public health leadership across the health and disability sector and influences wider determinants of population health to enable people, their whānau and environments to be healthy and improve their wellbeing.

- Liaise and interact with senior officials, Māori, Pacific and community leaders across the health system
- partner and collaborate with others across the Ministry and the wider health and community sector.
To perform this role effectively, your people skills will be paramount. You will be liaising with senior Māori and Pacific health leaders on behalf of your managers, therefore an understanding of cultural nuances is essential. You will be organised, motivated, approachable, able to build relationships and be eager to collaborate with others. You will demonstrate agility, initiative and a ‘can do' attitude.
If you enjoy working in a supportive, dynamic and fast-paced environment where one day is never the same as another, then please apply.
Ko pūkenga - What you'll bring
